Suzuki GT750A

Suzuki GT750A up for auction

by Guy ‘Guido’ Allen, Feb 19

Shannons has this 1976 Suzuki GT750A 'waterbottle' (aka 'kettle') in its current online classics auction. Listed as lot 81, bidding is at Au$15,500 (US$12,100, GB£8700) and concludes February 23.

While the majority lots are on four wheels, there is an interesting smattering of motorcycles.

This caught our eye not simply because of the excellent condition, but also because it claims to be an unrestored survivor. That being the case, it would be a very rare bird, with the odometer showing around 13,600km.

It's believed to have belonged to former Sydney motorcycle dealer John Fretten, who was known for his motorcycle collection.

The GT750A is the second-last model in a line-up that emerged in 1971.

Weighing 230kg dry, the liquid-cooled two-stroke inline triple claimed max power of 70hp at 6500rpm and a torque number of 83Nm at 5500rpm.
